This can include information about the website's you visit or something more sensitive such as your user name and password. Unprincipled companies often use this personal information to send you unsolicited targeted advertisements.<\/p>\n<p>Some forms of spyware are even worse and can act almost like viruses, hijacking your web browser, popping up ads, or just generally wreaking havoc with your PC by slowing things down or preventing Windows from reading your hard drive!<\/p>\n<p>Adware and Spyware are a modern scourge and any web search will reveal how widespread this problem really is.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Check your Computer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At QBS PC Help we recommend several free software tools that can help to combat Adware and Spyware and these include; <a href=\"http:\/\/download.cnet.com\/Ad-Aware-Free-Antivirus\/3000-8022_4-10045910.html\">AdAware<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/filehippo.com\/download_spybot_search_destroy\/\">SpyBot Search &amp; Destroy<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/filehippo.com\/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware\/\">Malwarebytes<\/a> and Microsoft Windows Defender (already installed in Windows Vista and Windows 7).<\/p>\n<p>For checking spyware, adware and rootkits <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techspot.com\/downloads\/4979-prevx-csi-64bit.html\">Prevx CSI<\/a> is a fairly new security tool that we are currently using and it works well!
