Even though Windows 10 handles post-update reboots pretty well, you may still like to have some control over these updates from the outset.<\/p><div id=\"pchel-154770696\" class=\"pchel-qbs-adsence-content pchel-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8454708912439696\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8454708912439696\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"8098774585\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div><br style=\"clear: both; display: block; float: none;\"\/>\n<p>There is a simple workaround for users running Windows 10 Professional. From the Start Menu, search for '<strong>Group Policy<\/strong>'.<\/p>\n<p>From the search result pick '<strong>Edit Group Policy\/Control Panel<\/strong>' from the top of the list.<\/p>\n<p>Expand Computer Configuration in the left-hand pane and navigate to <strong>Administrative Templates\\Windows Components\\Windows Update<\/strong>. Double-click Configure Automatic Updates in the list, select the Enabled radio button, and in the left-hand box select 2 - Notify for download and notify for install. Now click OK, and you'll be notified whenever there are updates - unfortunately, they will be a daily irritation if you're using Windows Defender.<\/p>\n<p>The Group Policy Editor isn't available on Windows 10 Home, but you can at least open Windows Update, click Advanced options and select Notify to schedule restart from the 'Choose how updates are installed' list.
